Thanks to everyone for another great year with the Lehigh Valley ISA. We had some great things this past year:

Our section membership is slightly down this past year – we have approximately 140 members.

Our section finances are doing well. We have a section budget for our upcoming 2011-2012 year.

We held 8 section meetings last year. This included 2 tours, 1 vendor’s table top show, 2 technical talks, 1 Joint meeting with the Philadelphia ISA section, 1 Golf outing and 1 Baseball outing.

Our section awarded 6 scholarships to local college students at our annual Honors and Awards Banquet in December. These were awarded to students with an interest and aptitude in the field of instrumentation and control systems. We are looking to modify our scholarship awards in the upcoming year – please stay tuned for details.

Our section awarded 3 scholarships to local middle and high school students at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science fair in February. These were awarded to students with science projects related to the automation and control field.

Thanks to all of the many people who volunteer their time over the year to make all of this possible. We hope you had a chance to participate this year, Our new calendar of 2011-2012 events is posted online at www.lvisa.org under the events tabs. Please check it out when you have a chance. If you would like to become more involved with the section committee, events planning, or scholarships – please let me know. The section is only as good as its members make it.

Best Regards,

A New Year, a new website! I have decided to revamp the website to make it more functional as the old one was just a little clunky and cluttered. It was also not user friendly at all from a coding perspective.

Our website is now running on the ever popular Wordpress platform and allows for easy on-the-fly changes and WYSIWYG content addition. I believe the current site navigation is better and links are easier to find too. Using the Wordpress platform gives us the capability to add news and articles in blog style fashion, make the site Search Engine Optimized, add social media capabilities and make this site mobile phone friendly.

We hope you like the simplicity and functionality of the new design. Any comments or changes, please let me know in the comments area below. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you at future ISA Lehigh Valley section events.
